RELIANCE STEEL COMPANY

The Project – An administrative office for a division of Reliance Steel and Aluminum Company. The site and building has a nostalgic meaning to the Corporation, as it was their original location. The Project included site, architectural and interior renovations, including raising a parapet of textured stainless steel panels and raw "I" beam to conceal roof top equipment and be consistant with the original building design. Additionally entrance canopies were added of the same materials. The North side of the building, originally a concrete walkway was converted into a staff patio/lounge. Steel "I" beams and shade cloth form a trellis to cover the patio area. The interior was mostly demolished and reconstructed to meet California energy codes and better serve staff functions. Systems furniture was planned to incorporate a pneumatic tube conveying system along with a complex printing system. The Project was configured for a support staff of twenty four, six administrators and one General Manager.
